MIAMI, Fla., May 20, 2011 – Rivero Mestre LLP announced today that Jorge A. Mestre has been named to the board of directors of the Hispanic National Bar Foundation.
The HNBF recognizes that the lack of opportunities, role models, information, and financial support often prevents many Hispanics from becoming leaders and contributing their voices on issues that affect our communities. The HNBF’s programs address those needs by providing Hispanic students from high school through law school with the tools and resources necessary to ensure full and equal opportunity.
Active in the community, Mestre also serves as a member of the board of directors of the American Bar Association’s Coalition on Racial and Ethnic Justice, as Vice-chair of the Latin America and Caribbean Committee, and a member of both the Steering Group to the International Energy & Natural Resources Committee and the Steering Group to the International Arbitration Committee of the ABA’s International Law Section. He is also an adjunct professor at St. Thomas University School of Law, where he teaches international arbitration.
Mestre’s practice is focused on complex commercial litigation, including international arbitration and litigation. He has litigated domestic and international arbitration matters in both English and Spanish.
