DALLAS — M. Paula Aguila spoke at the fifth annual 1L LCLD Scholars Summit during the Secrets to Success session. The panel discussed networking skills, life-work balance, and success tips for lawyers. The panelists were: Valeria Chapa Garza, General Counsel, Latin America, Honeywell International Inc.; James Ho, Partner, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP; Dimple Shah, Partner, Bowman & Brooke LLP; William Toles, Partner Fee, Smith, Sharp & Vitullo LLP; and Shaun Willie, Senior Counsel, Macy’s Inc.
Nearly 175 1L students attended the summit. Scholars from around the country met for three days of intensive career orientation, professional development, and networking to prepare the Scholars for their summer internships at LCLD member organizations—an important first step towards a career in the law.
Aguila’s practice focuses primarily on commercial litigation, including international litigation and arbitration, and white collar criminal defense. She defends and prosecutes substantial business disputes before the Courts of the United States and the State of Florida, as well as in domestic and international arbitration proceedings.
