MIAMI— Jorge A. Mestre spoke about 28 U.S.C. § 1782—obtaining discovery in aid of a foreign proceeding—at the American Bar Association’s International Law Section’s Latin America & the Caribbean Committee E-Meeting on February 4, 2021.

The ABA ILS Latin America & the Caribbean committee is dedicated to studying legal trends in the region. This committee addresses economic integration analyzing bilateral and regional trade arrangements. It focuses on the most diverse issues relevant to the region that are present in the daily lives of lawyers, judges, regulators and legislators. The committee is a conduit by which members connect and share experiences or collaborate on projects.

Mestre engages exclusively in a commercial-litigation practice and is Board Certified in International Litigation and Arbitration by The Florida Bar. He has litigated domestic and international arbitration matters in both English and Spanish.
