MIAMI — Amanda L. Fernandez, managing partner at Rivero Mestre, has been inducted as president of the Cuban American Bar Association (CABA). She will be officially sworn in at CABA’s 51st Annual Installation Gala, to be held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Miami on February 8, 2025. Rivero Mestre is a proud sponsor of the event.
Amanda’s presidency was featured in recent articles from the Daily Business Review (DBR) and the Florida Bar, highlighting her leadership at CABA, dedication to diversity and inclusion, and her unique perspective as a mother.
“Being a mother, you learn so much,” Amanda told DBR. “I have three kids, and I’ve learned how to multitask, stay goal-oriented, and manage my time effectively. Moreover, I bring my passion for the organization and its mission.”
As president, Amanda aims to strengthen partnerships with other bar associations and expand mentorship and leadership opportunities for young lawyers and law students.
Over a thousand lawyers, judges, and dignitaries will attend her official swearing-in ceremony at CABA’s annual Gala, raising funds for pro bono legal services and law student scholarships.
“This year’s theme, ‘El Próximo Paso,’ or ‘The Next Step,’ represents CABA’s forward-looking vision,” Amanda said. “It embodies my vision for CABA as we move forward, reflecting on the foundation built by past leaders and exploring how we can expand upon it in the future.”
CABA is a non-profit voluntary bar association founded in 1974 by lawyers of Cuban descent. CABA’s members include judges, lawyers, and law students of all backgrounds interested in issues affecting the Cuban community, as well as broader legal and human rights issues impacting minority communities as a whole.
