MIAMI—The New York City Bar Association has appointed Jorge A. Mestre as one of its representatives to the 74th session of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law Working Group II regarding dispute settlement, which is scheduled to be held in Vienna and online from September 27 – October 1, 2021. Mestre’s appointment permits him to make interventions during the meeting.
UNCITRAL is the core legal body of the United Nations system in the field of international trade law. With universal membership specializing in commercial law reform worldwide for over 50 years, UNCITRAL’s business is the modernization and harmonization of rules on international business.
Mestre engages exclusively in a commercial-litigation practice and is Board Certified in International Litigation and Arbitration by The Florida Bar. He has litigated domestic and international arbitration matters in both English and Spanish.
