Hugo A. Montero is a commercial litigator who represents individuals and businesses in complex cases. Prior to joining Rivero Mestre, Hugo was an associate at a New York-based law firm, representing clients in insurance matters.
While in law school, Hugo served as a staff editor for the University of Miami Inter-American Law Review. He also served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Elijah A. Levitt of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida. Hugo participated in the International Moot Court Program, where he competed in the Moot Madrid international arbitration competition against schools from across the world in Spanish.
Hugo earned the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Civil Procedure. He also served as a Dean’s Fellow for a First-Year Contracts class.
Hugo is a proud double Cane. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Miami. Hugo also earned minors in Spanish and Economics. Hugo is fluent in Spanish.
