MIAMI— Amanda L. Fernandez has been elected president-elect of the Cuban American Bar Association, effective January 1, 2024. In January 2025, Amanda will automatically ascend to serve as president of the organization following in the footsteps of the 50 trailblazing presidents before her.
“It is an honor and a privilege to represent CABA,” Amanda said. “I am excited to advance the organization’s mission of promoting equality of its members, diversity on the bench, and effective representation of minorities.”
Amanda has been on the board of CABA since 2017, serving as vice president and treasurer.
CABA is a non-profit voluntary bar association founded in 1974 by lawyers of Cuban descent. CABA’s members include judges, lawyers, and law students of all backgrounds interested in issues affecting the Cuban community, as well as broader legal and human rights issues impacting minority communities as a whole.
Amanda is an experienced commercial litigator who focuses her practice on complex business matters, securities litigation, and cross-border disputes. She represents foreign and domestic clients across a multitude of industries. She understands her clients come to her when the stakes are high and aggressively defends claims brought against them or pursues claims on their behalf.
