MIAMI — Rivero Mestre Managing Partner Amanda L. Fernandez recently moderated a CLE titled “From On High: Standards for Professionalism and Ethics” at the Cuban American Bar Association’s 2024 Judicial Forum & Luncheon.
Amanda and her panelists—Justice John D. Couriel of the Florida Supreme Court, Roland Sanchez-Medina Jr., partner at SMGQ Law and Florida Bar President, and Jorge L. Piedra, partner at Kozyak Tropin & Throckmorton and member of the Florida Bar Board of Governors—had an engaging discussion on principles and practices for maintaining high standards of conduct in the legal profession.
CABA is a non-profit voluntary bar association founded in 1974 by lawyers of Cuban descent. CABA’s members include judges, lawyers, and law students of all backgrounds interested in issues affecting the Cuban community, as well as broader legal and human rights issues impacting minority communities as a whole.
Amanda is the Cuban American Bar Association’s President-Elect. She is an experienced commercial litigator who focuses her practice on complex business matters, securities litigation, and cross-border disputes. She represents foreign and domestic clients across a multitude of industries. She understands her clients come to her when the stakes are high and aggressively defends claims brought against them or pursues claims on their behalf.
